On sites such as a yahoo with a dropdown scroll search box a number of different searches pop up. How do i get rid of them?

Easy but are you using:
Windows - Internet explorer / Firefox
or
Mac - Safari / Firefox
For Firefox go to:
Tools
Clear private data
select all and ok
For Internet explorer:
Tools
Internet options
General tab
Browsing history
Clear history
Clear Forms

Sounds like either a Yahoo or Google toolbar or spyware.
What is the name on the Toolbar? (Toolbar888, MyWebSearch, etc)?
As a precaution, considering running Ad-Aware (http://www.lavasoftusa.com) or Spybot S&D (http://www.safer-networking.com) to check and clear.
