Number One: Curt Schilling, old pitcher with great control. Should be decent in the first half, but collapse in the second again.

Number Two: Daisuke Matsuzaka, great potential, no MLB experience. Probably will be the best pitcher on the team.

Number Three: Josh Beckett, always had potential, never used it well, never will. Tries to just overpower hitters with fastballs. Teams with good offenses (the entire A.L. outside of the obvious stinkers) should dine on him (especially lefty lineups like the Indians and the Yankees). I think he'll be traded if the team doesn't do well. Has a decent-sized contract, and will be traded for prospects, non as good as Hanley Ramirez, though.

Number Four: Tim Wakefield, old and somewhat injury-prone. I don't know why a team with all that cash will have him in the rotation. He's way on the downside.

Number Five: Jonathon Papelbon, phenomenal RELIEVER, won't be that great as a starter. Still, he'll be better than Beckett and Wakefield. He's going to get injured around the time Schilling declines.

Many think the Sox rotation might be the best. I obviously think not. It has the potential to do great, but also has a decent-sized chance of crashing and burning.

Schilling-getting older, fatter, and losing it; was awful the last month and gave up many more hits than innings pitched
Beckett-batting practice pitcher last season 35 bombs given up, an NL pitcher
Matsuzaka-Overhyped pitcher who will be the next Hideki Irabu
Papelbon-finished last season with a bad shoulder and may not hold up over an entire seaso
Wakefield-washed up knuckleballer

Matsuzaka-i thhink is gunna suck
Schilling-he'll get banged up in the season
Papelbon-will hopefully go back to the bullpen where he can be dominant
Beckett-can probably return to ace status like he was with the Marlins
and i think the 5th spots up for grabs

The Japanese guy is gonna suck so bad, Schilling will get hurt and Papelbon will do terrible as a starter.
