i never saw the episode, but based on what you wrote it sounds like this guy is very disturb and should be locked away from society, he suffers from some sort of sickness and that should be delt with, as for his attitude i think you are right, but when one's mind is disturbed they are not thinking and having an attitude weather on dr. phil or otherwise is part of thier disturb mind game
