I used to work at Comerica Park (Tigers Ballpark) and used to see all the players but in person I've met, Al Kaline, Kirk Gibson, Alan Trammell, Lou Whitaker, Matt Nokes, Bobby Higginson, Craig Monroe, Joel Zumaya, Jeremy Bonderman, Nate Robertson, Brandon Inge, Robert Fick, Jeff Weaver and Johnny Damon

I met all of them at Comcerica Park, except Joel Zumaya I met at 5th Avenue and hungout with him for a lil bit, and I met him at an ABC Warehouse that my dad works at, the day they opened up the store him and Craig Monroe, no relation with Marilyn Monroe they were both there signing autographs

and the time I saw Damon at CoPa, he was still playin for the Red Sox in 03', and I talked to him for a lil bit and right b4 he left I told him, and this is true, I'm bein honest I said "I bet u this year u will lose to the NYY (who he plays for now) in the ALCS, and then in the Off-Season of 04' u'll get the 1 last piece of the puzzle your team needs, and finally get over the hump of passin the NYY in the playoffs, and end your curse and win the WS in 2004" and he's like "ooook"

now I wonder if he still remembers me tellin him that

As a child I met Mickey Mantle on three occasions. Once in Florida during spring training and twice at Yankee Stadium. A great thrill for me!

My dad was best friends with Johnny Vander Meer so I knew Johnny for many years. Johnny was famous for throwing two consecutive no hitters for the Reds in 1938.

Many. The cool thing about baseball players is they are very accessible away from the ballpark. Most are just regular guys and, with only a few bad experiences, very accomodating.

The 'rockstar famous' players are less accessible, but still around. Check out baseball camps, youth leagues and baseball training facilities to hang out and talk...or maybe even learn something.

I met Mickey Mantle in 1977 at a home-run hitting contest for a minor league team....at that time I understand his appearence only cost $1000.....he signed autographs for almost 2 hours.....big time fan of his...name my son after him (middle name is Mantle)....followed his career from almost start to finish.....when I could not get #7 I tool 14.....used his bat....and glove.....still in my mind the greatest power hitter ever......even on steriods....none of McGwire or Bonds come close in distance to what "The Mick" did.....injuries and the "bottle" was his demise.......

I played catch with Robin Yount, Jim Gantner, Dick Davis, Darryl Porter, Jerry Augustine, and my brother, who stinks. These former Brewers lived in an apartment complex near my parents home when I was growing up and they were super cool. Often they would throw their equipment out the door to us and let us play with it. I should also mention that it hurt alot catching the balls from them and I am sure they were trying to be nice.
