Matt Millen may go down as the worst GM in the history of football but the problem with the Lions starts at the top. Millen has brutalized the roster but he has only wrecked the team for 6 years and the Lions failures go much further back than him. Unless the Fords sell the team Lion fans will continue to watch utter ineptitude for the next 40 years. As for talent, they are seriously as low on talent as any team in football. The offensive line is just that...Offensive! Not one guy on that line stands out and they are paying Backus and Woody star money while neither are better than average. Wide receiver is another where they claim to have talent but after Roy Williams there is nearly nothing (they used a converted DB that couldnt keep his job in St. L. as the next best option). Jones is possibly a quality back but with the poor line play and his own inconsistancy and injuries the jury is still out on him. The D- Line has some talent but overall they rank as slightly above average at best with only Rogers and Redding playing at a consistantly high level (and Rogers may be sent packing...some teammates have pointed to him as one of the team cancers). The linebacking core beyond Ernie Sims is a joke....most of the rest of them wouldnt stick as backups on other teams (actually we know that as a fact as most of them were cut and picked up by the Lions...Paris Lenon? please, the guy couldnt stick with GB who have LB problems of their own). The DB's are terrible...Kenoy Kennedy may be the only one of them that has skill enough to play the style they want with Marinelli. Special teams are the one strength on the team. Now to put things in perspective for you...are you aware that the expansion Houston Texans have won 2 more games in their 5 years of existance than Millens teams have won in 6 years.... this is a fact so there is no talent like people think or this fact could never happen. Now name 5 quality starters that Millen has drafted in his 6 years....Roy Williams, Cory Redding and Ernie Sims are the ONLY players that he drafted that have shown any real talent out of over 40 players he has picked. Remember Millen forced Joey BlueSky (Harrington) on his own hand picked head coach who was so disgusted he refused to attend the press conference after the draft. Dont get excited about the win at the end of the season...they did the same thing the year before and with the severe lack of talent they currently have they will be lucky to win 5 games this season and there is no Super Bowl in the near future (it will take 2 or 3 drafts after Millen is gone just to make them competitive and a few good free agency signings to get them even playoff worthy).

Well it looks like the Lions have two big problems. One Matt Millen really is a terrible GM. Honestly, he thinks a team should revolve around some recievers with potential at best? (though Roy Williams was and is a sure superstar). I hate to break it to you but Mike Williams will be a Travis Taylor or a Peerless Price caliber guy at best.
The other problem is your owner. i know he isn't going to fire himself, but Millen is clearly a moron and somehow he retains his job. if you are think superbowl next year, honestly, forget it. Yes, miracles do happen but
a) you have no QB. Joey and Jon won't cut it and a Brady Quinn will sit the first 5 games and then go in like a scared pretty boy and pull a David Carr.
b.) Kevin Jones is very inconsistent. He goes high in fantasy drafts because he shows flashes of brilliance but there is something anti-sanders about him. i cant explain it.
c) the defense is a joke. sims will be a good player as will rogers and (idk if yall still have him) dan wilkerson? the DL. anyway i know 2, maybe 3 players on your defense.
Overhaul your team. i dont see it this year. not next year either. i'd give it 3 years minimum for a playoffs, probably 5 for a superbowl.
hey the sox and bulls are good!

Sorry but Lions are not winning the Super Bowl next year. The Lions have talent, but they are missing key spots in their organization. Here's a tip for Matt Millen. Draft a good young QB that will be able to step into a pro style offense right away and can lead your team to the playoffs and possibly a Super Bowl (hint hint Brady Quinn).

Obviously, William Clay Ford doesn't care that his team stinks, or Matt Millen has some revealing pictures of him with gay midget porn actors and waxed fruit strategically inserted into various orifices to use as blackmail, otherwise there is no way Millen should keep his job.

A good QB doesn't solve too many problems if he can't get rid of the ball. Hint, Hint ..... they need O-Line help. Without a better O-Line I don't care how much talent you have on a team, you can't win games when your skill guys can't get out of the back field or have time to get open.

Lions always seem to have talent, but always suck. They need a franchise QB end of story (I don't think he is in this draft).

He was the Isiah Thomas of the NFL, he drafted 3 wide receivers in the 1st round three years in a row, and the guy was clueless when it came to running the team.
