I believe she didnt exactly consent but didnt say no either to the first man. So is that rape? I dont think so

The second man IF he came back i believe could have raped her, because she probably felt used by the fact that it was two men.

I personally would have gone for not guilty except for the anal rape charge, i would have found that guilty.

Difficult one. Guess that's why the judge had to accept 'majority' verdict rather than the preferred 'unanimous' verdict.

I think she did get raped - by the first man. The jury didn't give the guilty verdict because the prosecuting case was not made in such a way that made them absolutely certain that he was guilty. The loopholes in the victim's side of the story allowed this to happen.

I though 'the Verdict' was a fantastic demonstration of how the law is dependent on abitrary factors such as the ability or otherwise of barristers to represent their case, the watertightness of evidence put forward by the prosecution, and the emotional vagaries of people like you and me.

I'm glad I wasn't in the jury!

I think the whole premise of trying to find 'the truth' of a piece of fiction is somewhat flawed. The whole exercise is pointless, since there is no emotional impact to a mock jury like this. When on a real jury you have it very much on your mind that you have to make a decision which will have a profound effect on both defendant and alleged victim.

Sadly, it was a worthless piece of self publicity for C-list celebrities a la Big Brother.

i thought that she was probably raped by them both. i really, really, really wanted to find out what actually happened at the end of it, suppose that wouldn't have been very life like but it would have been interesting....

maybe it will be a follow up programme with the jurys reaction... probably not though being bbc2, would be a bit sensationalising i suppose

It's actually very easy: if you're not sure, you acquit.
