Reyes, A-Rod can't hack it in NYC, and will continue his downward spin.
Reyes will be a sure thing for you.

I might actually go with A-Rod. First off, Reyes might not be available at the fifth pick. Also, DEFENSE PROBABLY DOESN'T MATTER. A-Rod was the best third baseman last year in hitting, no doubt. The big advantage for Reyes is his position, shortstop isn't as deep as third base. However, power is more valuable than speed, Reyes's only other big advantage. You hear of teams punting saves and steals, but never power. A-Rod has the advantage, also, in RBI's, much more than Reyes's Runs advantage. (By the way, this is all assuming that you're playing in a standard 5X5 roto league). The batting average is only going to be a 5-10 point difference. Besides, A-Rod might rebound, and Reyes might decline a little. I know he's young, but look at Felix Hernandez, young, great in first season, not so much the next.

What sure power shot? A Rod's just another over payed third baseman. It's Reyes by a land slide. He's younger, steals more bases, more than an adequate lead off hitter and he'll be one of the best at short in a very short time.

All right, I would generally take Reyes. In reality, Reyes is ranked #2-3 in the fantasy game, as A-rod can suck in BA and stolen bases. Furthermore, Reyes is not undergoing the frustration that A-rod is, and Reyes is poised for a breakout season and a leading role for the Mets. In general, Reyes is superior, but if you like A-rod or something, you can take him. It doesn't really matter, as you can maybe get Miguel Cabrera later on for third base.
Good luck!

Reyes helps your team a lot more. Steals are much harder to find than power and Reyes still gives you some power too with 20 hrs and his RBI are not bad for a lead off hitter.Hopefully he hits 300 instead of 260 which is totally possible. Take him above anyone except Pujols or Ortiz

Reyes. Contributes in every category and will only get better. Reyes is also a SS which makes him more valuable. ARod is great and will still put up great numbers. Don't let Yankee fans fool you, ARod "sucked" last year with 35 HR's, 113 R's, 121 RBI's, 15 SB's, and a .290 average but Reyes is growing and will continue to get better each year. You will lose out on HR's (about 10) and RBI's (about 40) but gain big time in SB's (about 40) and a bit in average (about .015).

gotta take reyes. reyes can steal, get hits, runs, avg, n still gets like 20 homers. a-rod is still a great player but the way that he was performing last year you have to think twice about it. this is a very tough one though because a-rod is still one of the best players in the league so is this is a pretty tough one, but as of right now i would take reyes.

reyes by a HUGE lead. he gives you steals, a rare stat. AVG could help to and can hit RBI and score R in a powerful lineup that the Mets have. Expect an improve in power, not neccesarily HR, but power in generally (doubles).
