alligators are reptiles and that is something you learn before 6th grade. whats with all the questions like this on the fourm ? like are snakes reptiles or can a snake eat an elephant ? come on i know 10 year olds that would be able to figure that out by themselves.

Alligators are reptiles. they are cold-blooded animals. They have to regulate thier body temp by heating up in the sunlight.

Alligators are animals but they are reptiles not mammals. Mammals are things that give birth to live young and nurse them, like people, cats, dogs, rodents, and opossums etc.

They are reptiles they lay eggs and are cold blooded, mammals are warm blooded and give birth to live young the only exception of this is the Australian platypus which is a mammal but it lays eggs! the only other egg laying animals are of course birds!
