I know its not from Pirates of the Caribbean, because I've never seen it.

The quote is something like "I would say they are more like guidelines," or, "They're not rules, more like guidelines."

I do know this:
x Its from a comedy
x Its an older movie
x I think its from before 2000

Are you 100 percent SURE it's not from Pirates? I searched for it and that's all I found.

(You're pirates. Hang the code, and hang the rules. They're more like guidelines anyway.)
(We figured they were more actual *guidelines*)

go to netflix.com and put it in there. It is in Pirates of the Caribbean. Captain Jack says it about the Pirates code.

1000% garunteed from Pirates of the Caribbean.
BUT, maybe Pirates is a re-make of a different Pirate movie that came out b4 2000.
TRUST ME! I am OBSESSED with that movie! I own it. Both of them.

It is from Pirates and relates to the pirate's code. It's after Elizabeth invokes 'parlay'. The pirates play along then when they've had enough they move the goalposts.
