The Iraqis have never had complete freedom as we do and they do not know what to do with it. It is a shame that so many American lives have been lost to offer this freedom to the Iraqis, however, it was a mistake to offer this freedom to begin with. The invasion of Iraq was to search for and destroy weapons of mass destruction. None were found so the administration found another excuse for the invasion. Freedom for Iraqis. Bush wasn't honest with Americans (and the world) about his motives for war and our failure to find WMD. He did a flip-flop because he couldn't admit that he (and his staff) made a mistake.

Because the whole Iraqi population are too busy fighting amongst themselves, carrying stupid grudges for hundreds of years and ideas of payback on each other! Until the populace has a radical change of mind set Iraq will NEVER be ready to be free!

they were not to the point where they wanted freedom for themselves in their country they should have been the ones to rise up and dispose of Saddam not us, you can not hand another country freedom they have to have an inner drive for it, and these people have been at each other for thousands of years and the only thing that history has shown to work is one rises up and the rest are so afraid of that one they all fall into line and you have peace, they are not ready for the challenge because they did not want freedom in the first place

You just can't force "freedom" unto people. Nobody forced freedom on you Yanks. You grabbed it with your own blood, sweat and tears.

Btw, for the past 100 years or so, everytime a middle eastern nation tries to fight for their freedom, you guys knock them down again through regime change and whatnot.
