You should be aiming to get your body in a straight position (no angles in shoulders or hips and a straight back).

You need to make sure you can hold your weight on your arms first otherwise your arms will collapse when you get up.

You need to warm up and stretch shoulders and wrists.

The best way to stay up is by spreading the fingers and pushing with the fingertips if you are going to overbalance. Push with the heels of the hand if you are falling the other way. It took me about 5 years to master staying in a handstand without moving my hands though.

Good luck!

Try practicing with a wall, couple of feet in front of it, that way you can practice balance and all that. It's how I use to do it, but then again I was kicked out of ballet, so might not be the "best answer". It worked, so give it a try.

there are two types. stiff lag. and the tuck and roll.
place your hands to the floor shoulder width. tuck you lags and raise your butt in a tuck position. then extend your legs sky ward. keep toes pointed. just keep practing, until you get Strong and get your balance. push ups ect. for warm ups.
