On the Internet <3 is normally translated as a heart or the word love as in "I <3 you"

For example, 2<3 (two is less than three)
or, 3>2 (three is greater than two)

Less than three in mathematics, < being less than and > being more than.

it's a silly way some people make a heart. if you turn your head (or computer) 90 degrees to the right, it will look like a heart.
