I had a HORRIBLE V Day yesterday. My bf'nd of 1 1/2 yrs. and I decided to go out this Friday since he had school last night and he's has a cold. I didn't get a call or nothing yesterday! It wouldn't have been as bad if I didn't have to see my c-workers get cards and gifts...and I got nothing. I would have been happy with a simple phone call. It was awful. Should I be so upset?

I called him Monday to see if he was feeling ok, he called me Tuesday, then I sent a card Tuesday to reach him V Day...was this enough on my part?

He is a wonderful b.friend every other day of the year, I love him dealry and he feels the same. Maybe I feel let down because he's usually so wonderful to me? Either way, I'm a girl and I want to feel special on the only "girl" day of the year. I sat through Super Bowl a couple weeks ago even though I hate football!

knowing that he was sick you should've called him first. because it might be that all the while you were thinking of flowers and gifts and a romantic date, your boyfriend could be home in bed and not breathing? you should know his reasons first before you rate your valentine's day as horrible. if hed rather be at home and watch reruns than go out with you on that important date then by all means you have every reason to be sooooo upset.

You should DEFINITELY be so upset!!! Why are you with him anyway? I mean, even if it wasn't Valentine's Day, he STILL should've called you if you've been dating for 1 1/2 years!!
Women complain about how unromantic their boyfriends are and how much guys don't want to commit.
I think the problem is with the women. I am an EXTREMELY romantic guy who is engaged to be married on August 4th. My fiance used to date guys like that, but broke up with them because she wanted more out of a relationship and she knew she deserved more. Well, now she's GOT more! (NOTE: ALL WOMEN DESERVE MORE THAN SOMEONE WHO DOESN'T EVEN CALL YOU ON VALENTINE'S DAY!!!)
Dump him. When he asks why, tell him it's because he's not thoughtful. Don't go running into the arms of the first guy who looks your way, either. DEMAND GREATNESS from your man.
Ladies, remember: men won't stop being @$$holes if they keep getting what they want from you. Make it stop!! Let a man know that you won't settle for anything less than the prince you deserve. Good guys are out there. Don't settle. It's better to get married when you're 30 than to divorce twice before then!!

No you shouldn't be upset. First off maybe your boyfriend just forgot. With school and other things he had to get done. Second, he was sick and when you are sick most of the time people don't feel like doing anything. However, I do realize you are upset, but you guys already had plans to go out on Friday....so it is not the end of the world.

well...Maybe he doesn't celebrate VD...Was it something you guys had discussed beforehand?
Maybe he just blew it off cuz he didn't feel well and figured he'd make it up later.
Maybe he's just completely self-abosrbed and doesn't care.
Or maybe he realizes that VD is just another day and didn't think it would matter cuz it's VD everyday in your relationship.
Don't be upset...Just figure it out and either appreciate what you have or end it LOL

Better tell him how you feel about Valentine's Day and all holidays. Tell him he will be missing some parts if he ever even THINKS about forgetting again!
