Reasons why I like public libraries:
1. They have books, and I like to read.
2. They have newspapers and magazines.
3. Now they have the internet.
4. Doesn't cost anything to get a card, or it costs a nominal fee.
5. You can duck in out of the weather, be it cold, rainy, or too hot.
6. Depending on which library, and how you do it, you can take a nap there, use the bathroom to change or whatever, take a drink of water; in short, a library is a home away from home.
7. Now libraries have CDs, cassettes, and other audio technology.
8. Some libraries even have café or snack bar now.
9. You can go to story time.
10. You can scope out members of the opposite sex there, or... well, I won't go there.

I think, as a human being, I am the most free I will ever be this side of Paradise when I am in a library.
Even the smallest and most austere library has a representative sample of the accumulated wisdom and knowledge of humankind, right there where I can grab hold of it and look it over at my own pace. That's what makes us human--only we in all of creation learn, and remember, and record. Thus when I immerse myself in books I am surrounded by the essence of human grandeur.
Libraries are not judgmental. Schoolteachers will try and tell me that THIS BOOK is too sophisticated for me, and THAT BOOK is too simple for me, but no librarian has ever told me not to read any book, not one, not ever. Next time you're in a library, look over everyone. Men and women, young and old, rich and poor, white and black--there is no distinction in the library. We are all together in a common bond of learning.
The library is quiet. Buddhist monks, Christian mystics, and pagan thaumaturges all agree that it is in silence, in the still moment when we are alone with our own thoughts, that we learn what we are. In the modern secular world the library is the equivalent of the convent or the ashram, where we put aside the garish trappings of the outside and turn within to make manifest the promise that we carry in our hearts.
To me the library is the proof of what human beings could be if we stopped putting on faces, trying to accumulate the trappings of cool, let our masks down, and treated each other with fairness and decency and humility. In a library we are liberated from ourselves. In a library we become who we are.

usually talking, public libraries won't in any respect have the textbook you're required to apply in a classification. it rather is as libraries at the instant are not attracted to identifying to purchase all those fabric; they each now and then get donated however the version would be sorely previous-fashioned. they'll, notwithstanding, each now and then have commerce books. those are this type of books you will use once you hit bigger branch classes. A commerce e book is amazingly like a usual e book you %. off the counter of a bookshop. notwithstanding, you will possibly be able to desire to look first, and greater modern commerce books at the instant are not likely to be stocked by utilizing the library. greater many times, the faculty library might have them yet grad pupils and professors tend to order them for long lengths of time (an entire year each now and then). With that reported, your college library might furnish the direction textbook on reserve. this suggests that the instructor has sent over a unmarried textbook for which could be regarded at in basic terms for an hour or 2 and can't be taken out of the library. you are able to, notwithstanding, make photocopies or examine up on the e book whilst you're there. examine with the instructor earlier to work out in the event that they placed one up for reserve -- no longer all colleges have a coverage of doing so.

I've been going to the public library ever since I was a very young child. I was told by my mother that books are our friends, and with books you can go any where you want to go. We erased pencil marks and mended pages if we found any, and any trip to the library was fun, because that meant I could check out a new armload of books to take home and enjoy. The same branch library I went to then, still smells the same to me now, and brings back memories of discovering new and wonderful books to read and authors to discover. The public library always feels like home to me...comfortable, warm and friendly, with an endless supply of wonderful tales to discover.

I love the library because there are a million ways to escape there (not saying my life's bad, but it's good to escape sometimes!). I live close enough to the library to walk, and so I get exercise and I get some food for the mind. I tend to migrate straight to my favorite authors, then I browse around to see what else is out there. I get to see old friends, make new friends, have a little time away from home... I love the library so much, I have my library card number memorized, yikes!

as a librarian, i appreciate all libraries. each library has a unique function. what i like most about the public library is the inter-library loan services they provide; i.e., i can request Sex & The City (book or DVD) from another branch, and they will send it to my branch for no additional cost. I also like the public library because when i had no internet access at home, i relied upon their internet terminals (and printer!) i like the DVD's and CD's that i can borrow for little to no cost. and i like the other library professionals who work in the public library b/c the vast majority of them (yes, there are a few bad rotten apples... but what organization is without these types?) define and exemplify "public service."

I once read an article in regard to a college library that was entitled: YOUR SIX MILLION DOLLAR FRIEND.
It was a prelude to an article explaining how to use the resources found at the college library to do marketing research, as well as, to find articles on any particular industry.
Our public libraries are similar...they contain vast wealths of information -- all at our fingertips and most can be 'checked out'. Reference books are available to use there. They often have copy machines available to use for a reasonable fee. And, most modern libraries will also have computers available for online research, as well.
Libraries are nice because the personnel are trained to interact with a wide diversified types of people. It is usually one of the least discriminating places to visit ... anywhere. They cater to those who are literate, as well as, literacy challenged. Young or old...they are there to help them with their literary interests. That is nice.

I think it is awesome that we live in a country that has libraries where anyone can get books to borrow for free. I love it because it's a place where the world is available for you to learn.

I love going there because of the calm feeling I get. I feel that I will never die. Sorry. That's just how I feel! I also love browsing all those books! i found ome of the best that way!
I love the people there too. They always make me feel so...weird.
I feel like they stare at me everytime I turn around. I basically avoid people in the library!
Hope that helped!
