It is acceptable to have a resume be longer than a page. However, there are a couple of "rules":

- It looks silly to have 4 lines on a second sheet. If this is the case, consider font size increase/reduction or margin increase/reduction to either put it all on one page, or make the second page more significant.
- It also depends on how much experience you have. That is THE most important thing on a resume - relevant experience. If you have changed jobs a few times, you are bound to need more than one page. I, as a manager, want some details on what your responsibilities & accomplishments were in your past jobs. However, if you are a new grad, NEVER go over one page...I do not need to read about your personal life & activities to hire you.

If there are only four lines on the 2nd page, I would advise you do one of the following: 1) reduce the number of words or spacing to fit the whole thing onto one page or 2) increase the number of words or spacing (add extra line breaks, etc) so that it fills the two pages in a reasonably balanced way.

Personally, my last resume was hard to fit on two pages. I have interviewed people with resumes that are more than two pages. It really depends on the content: 3 pages about a burger king job is way too much; 3 pages about a 20 year career in biochemistry is appropriate.

Hope that helps.

A resume should never be longer than a page. Employers do not have the time to read numerous pages. So, make it's concise and when you get to the interview use that time to go into detail!

it is ok i guess but it looks so much more professional if it is only one page plus it is much easier to read. just put the most important achievements, skills, backround, and experience.
