When do you want to go? I've live in the Myrtle Beach area and have also lived in Charleston and Hilton Head Island. Do not go to Myrtle Beach in May, it's dominated by biker events most of the month. Charleston has the Family Circle Cup tennis tourney in April. And Hilton Head has the Heritage golf tourney the weekend after the Masters. A tip if you choose Myrtle Beach. If your teens school starts close to Labor Day or after Labor Day, go around the third week of August. Schools in the Carolinas and Georgia are open so there are less people here, but all of the activities are still open. And the hotel rates drop. Other good times to come here. Between Easter and the first week in May before the biker events and just after the biker events end in May but before all the kids come down for high school graduation. Call the Chamber of Commerce and ask for a Stay and Play guide, it will help greatly.

How would you get there, and what time of year? Are you talking USA?
This time of year, you'd have to head to southern FL to be warm. Even in summer, the water in southern California is cold because the ocean current is coming down from the Arctic - so it may be warm there, but the water is not.
At the right time of year, the Norfolk/Virginia Beach area is nice, and if you want fewer crowds, you can head a little north or south from there.
From mid-July to late August, RI and MA are primo.
The western end of Florida is nice in early summer/early fall - anywhere between Pensacola and Panama City.
South Carolina, like Myrtle Beach and area are nice in the summer.
Your question is kind of open-ended. There are a lot of variables. As far as teens go, it seems to me that southern destinations have more family-type entertainment (parks, waterslides, etc) then the northern ones, and northern ones are just, well, different. I like the northern ones better, but it's a short season.

Maybe look into SC. Charleston or Myrtle Beach. Myrtle is very touristy but with tons to do. Charleston is more expensive but has alot to see. The adults will appreaciate it more.
