isn't it true that war is only business, moral implications only used to attain support for the business? I mean, all wars ever fought were to secure land, resources or money.

John. I was only able to check your first link. I see that Sadaam has killed hundreds of thousands of innocent people. What is the death toll of Innocent Iraqis since the war? You'll find that it is almost three-fold.

The basic reason for this war is to protect America from further attacks. Of course there are always underlining reasons. All in all it is an attempt to stop or more like defer terrorist from attacking America!

In the land of international affairs, diplomacy, and war it's never over any rightous reason. Righting wrongs or relieving suffering in another country never pays for the cost of war. Countries never engage in war unless there is a net gain. In the case of Iraq, a most unpopular war with no support on the homefront, the stakes must be extremely high.
Here's something to consider.
What is important about oil is the fact that it is the largest commodity traded on the international commodity market, not the fact that the USA needs oil. Since the US drop the gold standard, the international currency market drives the value of the dollar. When the gold standard was dropped by Nixon in the 1970s, an agreement was struck with OPEC that they would receive US military protection against the USSR if they demanded US dollars as payment for their oil sold on the international market. These became known as petrodollars. It has been the demand for dollars needed by other countries to buy oil that has supported the dollar since.
Sometime around year 2000 Iraq started demanding payment for oil in Euros instead. Shortly after that, Jordan, Iran, and Charvez in S. American did as well. At that time, the Euro traded on the currency exchange for 80 cents US. Because of the demands placed on the Euro in oil trade, it now trades for $1.30 US. On the international currency market, the US dollar has lost 60% value since 2000.
So, is Iraq over oil, corporate profit, or an effort to balance the value of the dollar and thus save the US from total economic collapse? What do you see as the major case?

You may be right about recent wars but wars like Nam, korea and the world wars, civil wars, revolutionary war had nothing to do money. Ask Cheney where the 2 billion dollars given to halliburton went to!! Over 10 billion can not be found in Iraq...where did it go?!! Someone is getting very rich off of this war and just dont look past all of the corrupt politicians of this administration!!

This war is all about money, I would love to see an investigation of who is profiting the most from it. Follow the money trail and I think it would lead back to the ones that started the war based on lies. We all know now it wasn't about WMD's, we didn't find any. It is not about ousting Saddam he has been dead a month and we are still there and it not about Iraqi freedom as more are being killed every day, and we do nothing to stop. the bombings. Conclusion somebody is getting awfully rich off of this war..

There are plenty of wars that were fought to exterminate threats or undesirables. That is the war we are fighting. For anyone who thinks this war is about making money. Please give evidence of what profits we have made in the last 4 years. We have not taken a drop of oil. So let's hear it.

And before you libs start shouting: HALIBURTON! HALIBURTON! Name another company that could do the work they are doing with their efficiency and quality of work. No other company can do the work they do, so it's either we let Haliburton do the job or it doesn't get done.

Please do some research before posting

Heres a good one about Saddam's death tolls, You're welcome

Along with other human rights organizations, The Documental Centre for Human Rights in Iraq has compiled documentation on over 600,000 civilian executions in Iraq. Human Rights Watch reports that in one operation alone, the Anfal, Saddam killed 100,000 Kurdish Iraqis. Another 500,000 are estimated to have died in Saddam's needless war with Iran. Coldly taken as a daily average for the 24 years of Saddam's reign, these numbers give us a horrifying picture of between 70 and 125 civilian deaths per day for every one of Saddam's 8,000-odd days in power.

the war is about one thing and one thing only....american greed. americans are not satisfied with what they have....they want what everyone else has (read:oil) and they want to tell everyone else how to run their country when america is a bigger mess than most of the countries bush targets.
