I got a modeling agent almost a year ago and haven't gotten any work yet. We paid them $350 for pictures but they haven't asked for any other money. Is this possibly a scam?

The thing is, there were lots of other agencies at the same event where I met they guy that later signed me. There were representatives from ford, elite, and other really popular agencies. That makes me think it could be legit.
Also they didn't ask for any money up front, it was after a while and I only paid for prints of the pictures they had taken and comp cards.
What do you think?

You paid for the photography. The agency will take your photos and try to market you to companies, magazines, and films.
good luck.

it incredibly is a rip-off. everybody drawing near you in a mall is in basic terms out on your money first of all, appearing, dancing and modeling are all thoroughly separate companies with separate brokers. a valid employer does not represent all 3 Modeling is barely approximately looks - until eventually your daughter is over 5'8" with measurements interior a million" of 34-24-34 and looks like Adriana Lima or Candice Swanepoel, no agent is contacting her approximately modeling appearing is approximately education and adventure. no person approaches random human beings approximately appearing as you do not have any thank you to comprehend if a individual has any expertise, has long gone to appearing college, has had best roles in community theatre productions, etc. It has no longer something to do with looks. All any agent is judging you on is your resume - they could see how lots adventure and education you have. No agent will seem at you devoid of two-3 years of coaching and adventure Dancing is all approximately education and being area of a dance employer. you are not getting an agent until eventually you have experienced as a dancer for 5+ years and are already in a substantial dance employer actual brokers do no longer ask on your telephone kind. they provide you their card and ask you to touch them in case you have an pastime. they desire you to do your study on the subject of the employer and the employer until eventually now contacting them this is going to be a rip-off desiring you to get hold of photos, training, showcases, workshops, auditions, expertise searches, internet site listings or something else. that's the way you will comprehend it incredibly is a rip-off. a valid employer in easy terms makes money whilst they e book you on a job then take their value. They under no circumstances ask you to pay them something out of pocket for any reason

Hollywood has tons of beautiful people. Most of them arrived with a smile. That smile got them where they are today. In a service area, usually. The smarter ones who go into carpentry,
stagecraft, electrical are often in film credits. Talent talks, hon,
and we don't do silent film anymore in Hollywood. This still leaves the catalog business. Who is doing Sears this year? You don't know? Maybe you should knock on their door, hon.
