What is the best brand between yamaha and a epiphone?

yamaha is more expensive, but its an ok brand, epiphone is a knock off of gibson, but is pretty good. shoot for a gibson, if you can(this is all from a bass percpective, guitars, I wouldn't know, since I play an Ibanez guitar)

I don't know anyone that plays a yamaha. As a matter of fact, up until last week I didn't even know yamaha made guitars. I'd go with epiphone. But not the cheap epiphones sold at target. The little more expensive epi's.
