I know they do a good job to keep my new husband paying consistently.. we were $36 dollars short in 8 months and they sent him a show cause hearing. My ex husband on the other hand is $15,000 behind and they eat his excuses up. He says he is mentally unstable and due to medication, he can't work but the real reason he doesn't work is right after he gets a garnishment he quits! It is very annoying and it only hurts the kids. I think child support agencies are a joke. If I was on welfare, like my husbands ex-girlfriend, they would be more strict on my ex and I would get the child support.

My youngest son was four when my ex left. The CSA had all the necessary info to trace him. My ex stopped making voluntary payments as soon as the CSA got involved (I had no choice in that cos I was on the dole at the time) When my son turned 21 I got a letter saying I wouldnt receive any more money. But... I hadnt had a penny anyway. They could never trace him, even though he lived half a mile down the road for the first five years after we split. And they want to give them bonuses???

let me tell you what the child support agency did to me. they had me, my son, and my baby's dad take a paternity test in order for me to be able to put him on child support. The test came back that he was not the father. then they had the nerve to send me a letter in the mail stating that if my baby's dad is the only possible father i would have to pay 159 dollars to request a 2nd paternity test. i have never heard of a 2nd paternity test because i was told they are 100% accurate. Although i know my baby's dad is my son's father, now i have to pay 159 dollars to take it again to prove to him that our son is his. i think they screwed up the test on purpose so they can get me to pay for the paternity test cause it was free the first time.

They wrench every penny they can out of the paying parents.....and dont really bother with the ones that " hide " ! My husband had his pay garnished for more than 2/3 of his income....the amount was sooo high the garnishment was denied for exceeding the legally allowable limit. Do you think the amount was reduced though ? H.E.L.L. NO.....they just re-submitted for the maximum allowed and sent him a notice that he was required to send a check for the rest ! We didnt have enough left to live on ( we paid as requested )....and they wonder why so many parents DONT pay !

The CSA doesnt exist anymore. They were deemed a waste of public money and were not bringing in enough revenew for it's clients. They had no real legal ability's to MAKE people pay anything. They tried to 'garnish' peoples wages and it was found to be unlawfull.
They stopped going a while back.
I should know, my ex tried and failed miserably.
This is the UK csa by the way.

the CSA is a branch of the government who use victimisation of men as a means of revenue and perpetuate the ongoing cycle of 'meal tickets' for girls who think their careers are picking the best 'baby daddy' to sponge off.
in some instances people need the help of CSA and don't get it and I'm not implying all people who apply for assistance as spongers, far from it but having worked for them i know exactly how unfair the system is.
Its the typical benefit system, those who deserve help don't get it and those who know the system reap the rewards.

i'd say they are getting better. they passed stronger laws, but the problem is the parent just doesnt know their rights and what can be done about the problem.
the caseload is too high and parents simply dont know what to do.
for instance, if a case worker or dept isnt on the ball, they need to fax the Regional FEDERAL Child Support Office as well as their states Attorney General and Governor.
they need to fax weekly if need be, asking them what is being done and what they are doing about this problem.

no. i don't think they are. it seems nearly impossible for a person to receive child support. they should have stricter regulations when it comes to these things especially when it involves a child. laws for children should have priority over any other laws that are put into place.

Incompetent staff who faff you off for months.
Do yourselves a favour - get your local MP onto it - works a treat.
