He fell asleep with a cigarette in his hand and burned a hole in it that does all the way down through the leather and into the cushion below. Can leather be repaired or is the couch junk now? The manufacturer already said they don't make that cushion anymore...

I would call a leather profesional. If it is an expensive couch you don't want to junk until you know for certain

TEP 1: If the damage consists of a small hole or rip in the leather (under 1 1/2 inches / 4 cm), make a patch to repair it. Use sharp scissors to cut out a circle around the hole or rip that is just large enough to remove the rough edges. Avoid making the hole any larger than necessary.
