I think a bright color would offset it. If you wear a dark color with it, it just blends into the background and is, well, boring. Men are wearing shirts & ties of the same material & color more and more. A lime green or a royal blue would really look nice and stand out without being overly done.

I like Medium blue with gray suits, it really pops! Hold a tie up to the shirt and the suit to see what would look best, as there are so many prints out there lately. Some shirts come with the tie ready to go, that might be an OK option. Good luck!

Gray is a very neutral color, so a medium blue shirt and a red tie go well.

i think u shud go with a light blue shirt & a royal blue tie blue wud like great w/ gray so just go with blues but DONT use the same color blue 4 the shirt & the tie

Go for a white shirt and black tie. Monochrome is coming into fashion at the moment.

i would go with a black shirt- same color of grey for the tie! you'll look great!
