Yes I have to agree with it being a little strange but if he is your true friend then you shouldn't have to deal with your mom saying that's a little wierd. She should be happy that you have friends whether there older of younger. I have a lot of older friends and a lot of younger friends. You should be happy that he is your friend. don't feel bad about having a younger friend than you are. Good luck!

i believe there's nothing wrong being a friend to an 8 year old.I have a neighbor friend (she's like a sister to me), Im seven years senior to her.And we've been friends for more than 10 years now.I can say our friendship is not determined of how young we've started but on how long our friendship come along way.so don't be embarassed for as long youre happy with him continue what you had started..tnx

its fine. im 13 and my brother 10 with lots of friends that im friends with too. if your mom bring sit up agian just say ok and ignore it. its no big deal. but this friendship could get hard in the coming years as you begin puberty and he isnt.

It's not weird. Your friends are just that...your friends. You pick them. As long as he's not leading you astray from your family's "values", then I don't see a problem with it and I'm not sure why your mom would.

It's a little strange because he is a lot younger than you but i've seen it before. if you enjoy hanging out with him than don't be embarrased and feel comfortable with expressing your friendship. also it's good because he can look up to you if you're a good role model.

She prolly hear about the Michael Jackson incident. Just say to her, "I'm not Michael Jackson, mom. I'm not like that."
