the romans had the first paid profesional army, and the greeks had the first democracy both still in use today in many parts of the world
almost forgot, if you have to have only one that both cultures shared it would have to be the idea of plumbimg

The sports Stadium, the Olympics. As one of the earliest civil structures both the Greek & Romans, pretty much set the path of all modern history. Be it law, art, counting systems calanders.the

Greek - Hamartia: device in literature where the hero of the tale is undone by a tragic flaw in his character. Still happens in Hollywood movies.
