There are some side- effects: you can have reactions to hormone loss, anxiety, aggitation. It is safe, but an OBGYN can tell if it is needed. It should not be done just to get out of periods or to not get pregnant

I had a hysterectomy and i am thankful that i had it. I feel so much better, not so tired all the time from heavy periods and i don't have to walk down that aisle any more also i can plan a vacation ahead of time with no worries...go for it ..you won't regret having it done. Also i had it done laparoscopic so there is a short recovery time.
