thats funny...of all the requirements in the question, the answer he gets is "World of Warcraft"?!! The only requirement WoW meets is "online"!
Guild Wars is free to play (after you buy it), it's online, it's MMORPG, it's server-based and not text based....and I, personally, think WoW sucks! :P (ok...not true...the graphics are amazing! But WoW is only good if you do not have an addictive nature and/or do not care about your job, family, etc...I've never seen so much heartache come from a game before WoW --- or since!)

maybe runescape? online non downloadable is a hard one man. not many things out there like that, thats free. so if your not going to pay then maybe a trial version of World of Warcraft.
