I was rushing through the airport and my shoes came untied and I stopped to try and tie them myself and a young lady came and got on her knees to tie them for me...a small thing but I'll never forget it.

Oh, many times. Yesterday one of my sisters gave me a red rose for Valentine's Day. Now that I'm 50, way overweight, and walk with a cane, people offer me seats on the bus or subway. People I know sometimes lend or give me money when I need it. Oh...about two months ago, that same sister bought me a new bed.

When people are nice to me, I feel good: sometimes humbled, sometimes appreciated or affirmed.

I don't always do acts of kindness "in turn" in a tit-for-tat arrangement. I do acts of kindness regardless. I sometimes give money to beggars on the street. Today I brought Valentine candy to my new place of work.

the last thing I did to return the kindness was to pay for dinner for a friend who always paid for me
It made me feel good because I dont always have the money to spend and this time I did and she was happy
