Some people seem fake - somehow they seem like they are putting on an act, while others seem genuine, even if they say or do the same thing. What is it that distinguishes a person who is fake from a person who is genuine or authentic? Please be as specific as possible! :)

What distinguishes a fake person from a genuine person? The fact that the first person is putting on a personality and is not genuine, and the second person is just being themselves. What else? Are you looking for some kind of magic clue?

Alot of the impression you have is from non-verbal communication- and gut instinct and feelings.- however is this a realiable lie detector? In my opinion no! You can not tell if someone is genuine or fake depending purely on thier character/ and ways of expression. Don't judge people purely based on "who" you think they are. -Look at the facts, and try to understand different forms of peoples expressions- not everyone does this in the same way.

You can judge them by their background. That usually yields a history of their place and status. Many people here on Answers are hiding behind false faces, but their words might still help others. Time is the test. What results do they produce? That's the mark of sincerity. Good Luck.

Listen very carefully to the things they say and if they contradict themselves you will know that they are not sincere. I tend to distance myself from people who tend to come across like they are acting out a role, or just saying what they think others want to hear.
