Arrest Warrants are given at the level of the police department, and most of them are forwarded up the line, but they may not be forwarded to the courthouse.
If state troopers, police from out of your county, police from outside of your state, the FBI, or other federal organizations post an Arrest Warrant for you the county courthouse may very well not know about it. Since contacting the police and asking them if there is an outstanding arrest warrant could get you caught you have a problem.
It is possible to go for years without knowing if you have an arrest warrant out for you. I had a friend that I met overseas in the military. A few years after I got out of the military he invited me over to his place. That weekend Federal Marshals came calling on an old arrest warrant. Luckily he got it dismissed. The warrant had been filed by his ex-wife at least 4 years before the Federal Marshals came calling. My friend was in the Military Police and even he didn't know that there was a warrant for his arrest. The only reason he got caught was because he was back in the state where the warrant was filed and the Federal Marshals decided to go through old warrants and organize a roundup.

Sure, it's possible -- people screw up paperwork and proper notifications all the time.
But it's not likely. If an arrest warrant is issued for you, it's issued by a judge FROM the courthouse, recorded by the court, and sent on to the police to execute the warrant. They do a pretty good job of knowing which warrants they've issued.
It could be from another county, though...:)

i do not think this is possible. in order for police to get an arrest warrant they need to go to the courthouse in your county in order to get a judge to approve it. if you are unsure, you could always check with the police department but this would be somewhat silly if you really did have an arrest warrant and ended up getting arrested. it is possible for other counties to have an arrest warrant and your county not knowing about it since they do not need to be notifed. to make sure, i would call your courthouse again and then call your police department to make sure. hope this helps!

Is this, by any chance, Jarred from Billings? As for your question, the county courthouses aren't the best at record keeping, paper work, etc. I wouldn't be very surprised if there is an arrest warrant and they don't have record of it. That, however, wouldn't make it invalid.

Are you the guy who asked a similar question the other day? Wanted to know if there was a way to find out if there's a warrant out on you. What did you do?

Yes it's possible. It would depend on the process used by law enforcement agencies in your area. Sometimes it may take a bit of time.
