Why don't young women wear them anymore? Don't your feet sweat more and pull the insides out, which ruins your shoes. Or am I just showing my age?

YOu are probably showing your age somewhat, because I feel the same way. If you are getting dressed up, you should have hose on. No question, pantyhose are not comfortable and I have never found a pair that was. Get them too big and they bag, get them too small and they feel like they are going to squeeze your insides out. But, to me that it part of getting dressed up.

I have wondered the same thing, I cannot imagine wearing a dress without panty hose especially in winter when your legs are pale. In the summer if you are all tanned it would be ok, but you are right about ruining shoes. The insole always gets stuck to your foot and pulls out.

They do make your legs look nicer and are a must when wearing a business suit and some dresses. I used to have to wear them every day years ago at work and hated them then. I am 36. They were (and still are) expensive and I could never wear them more than twice before I got a run. They are hard to wash and lose their elasticity when washed. The feet part make my feet sweaty and smelly. Truthfully my "private area" hair itches when I wear them.
It's better to just wear pants. Sundresses are cute with bare legs in the summer and can be worn to work with a cute jacket.

i wear them when i'm dressed in a really girly outfit and bare legs aren't appropriate.
the back-seam stockings are my favorite, and i have come to the conclusion that they are pretty much impossible to find, other than thigh-highs... which are apparently a huge pain in the a$$, because i can't get the stupid garter belt straps to stay attached.

Females are too lazy today and way too slovenly dressed most of the time. They don't try to be ladylike at all!

I hate pantyhose because they are uncomfortable, I prefer going bare legs, wear tights, or wear pants.

Girls nowadays shave every day if necessary and they don't need to cover up their legs because they're consistently well-shaved.
