During The International Geological Year (July 1st,1957 to December 31st,1958) 12 nations joined together and, for the purposes of science, declared that Antarctica was a "non-national" Continent. This agreement was ratified in 1961. The continent is divided into "pie slice" divisions based on what lines of Longitude run through which countries on their way to the South pole. If You look at a globe of the world You will see what I mean. Australia has a territorial protectorate in Antarctica which approximates the size of the continental US of A., whereas the US has a tract of land about the size of Nebraska.

Well.. it is owned.. but USA won't recognise the ownership rights.. because it will evnetually mine it if it can.. Antartica is known to be one of the richest sources of oil and gas.. and is yet untouched..
No one own it.. no one should touch it.. although i heard they're thinking of opening up a tropical holiday resort there once the ice is melted away.. since the rest of the world will become a cesspool after that..

Me, why? Are you going to make me a bid? Right now, Donald Trump is thinking of trying to buy it from me and put up a high rise and casino, but I'm willing to listen.

Nobody, right now but I will gladly sell it to you. Just think you could own your own continent.
