Hi

I have been a work at home employee for about a year now, company uses citrix for workt at home employees. lately all applications coming thru the citrix server are locking up, losing connection, softphone is unusable..too unstable

I replaced the router, brought laptop in to the office they said its fine, they ran their own tests. all seemed to work when hooked up to lan at office and the IT cable modem they have for these types of problems. I dont know what else to do..i have the cable company coming out to look at my setup tommorow but i have not made any adjustments, seems like last few weeks as weatehr got colder these connection issues started

any advice?

Thanks

Citrix works just fine if the server side is deployed by people who know how to read instructions. Otherwise, it would not sell as well as it does. O_o Citrix made over 1 billion in revenue last year for a reason. The solution works.

About your Yahoo Question, you did the right thing by bringing the laptop into the office. That proves your laptop is fine.

Since you are still seeing connection problems from home, have you tried connecting from someone else's home? That will help you narrow down the problem. You sorta already started down this road when you tested the laptop using the IT cable modem.

Does every employee who uses Citrix from home have the same problems you see? If not, find out what company these other employees are using as their fast internet connection provider. Of particular importance would be to find other employees that use the same internet provider that you do. Then you can compare notes to find out if they have noticed a similar degredation of performance within the same span of time that you noticed it.

Maybe ask the IT department what company they use for that IT cable modem. I realize that switching internet providers is not necessarily the easiest method to solve the issue, I'm just suggesting ways for narrowing the scope of the problem. Not all internet providers are created equal, regrettably. Good luck!

CITRIX is horrible, horrible crap. Most problems you experience with it are the result of it being garbage, NOT with your connection. You can easily test your connection by surfing the web/downloading files. If it is slow or keeps disconnecting, it may be the connection. Otherwise you should call whoever handles your tech support and force them quit lying about what is wrong.

I assume you already uninstalled and reinstalled CITRIX on your laptop. If not, you should do that before calling tech support.

it may be signal strength from your cable provider - possibly weather related. i guess you'll really have to wait and see what they say.
