Use a puller to put pressure on shaft then hit the end of puller. (The part that you tighten against the shaft )with a hammer like you did with the long rod.It may come off fast so stay out of the way.

On Motorbikes we let the weight of the bike be suspended by lifting it up by the rotor!

Use a puller or something behind the rotor and hit the crankshaft's end a sharp blow (leave the nut screwed on to the shaft end's thread so as it's flush with the end, so you can hit the nut and shaft without damaging the shaft's threads with the biggest hammer you can get your hands on and can swing).

A big sharp shock is what is required to break the grip and seal off the taper.

Hope you know what i mean and this is of help to ya!

you can rent a puller(easiest),,or try use an oxy-acetalyne torch to heat up the pully and try tap it off.

heat up the part youre trying to take off (aka blowtorch). it will make it expand slightly and will loosen it. Dont heat both tho. that wont do anything.
