I'd pull our troops out of Iraq and start talking economic engagement with Iran - conditioned on full monitoring of their nuclear program.
Oh, and as long as I have unlimited power, I'd impose sanctions on Saudi Arabia and Pakistan for financing terrorist organizations - and impose sanctions on Israel for its illicit nuclear weapons program.
That would be a full day.

Well h*ll, if I had "unlimited power", I'd have allied countries provide a safe haven for women and children of Iraq and Iran who wanted to leave before "All h*ll broke loose", and then recommend that all men NOT affiliated with terrorism or jihad to leave....THEN NUKE EM! After that, and after the radiation levels subside, start building....Exactly like New Orleans except the entire world would be stepping up!

Personally I would pull the troops out and mind my own damn business. How are we going to go over there and correct what history has already preordained. Those countries have had conflict since the biblical times. George W. Bush cannot interfere with that and expect things to be all Hunky Dory and wonderful.
This country is run by the American people not a dictatorship. Whenever a president has a vendetta against a country and involves ALL Americans.... there is a problem. Unfortunately it's a bit late for that realization Honeychild...

I would institute a temporary draft in the United States (with a 5 years max). I would harnass our REAL military industrial complex the way we did in WW II by awarding lucrative contracts to any manufacturer of munitions, guns, and other warfare equipment.
I would declare martial law in Lebanon, Syria, Iraq and Iran and shut down their borders without giving them a chance to respond. I would bomb all satellite television operators in the Middle East into the stone age.
I would arrest or kill any member of any one of several dozen active terrorist organizations operating in those areas. (Should take about 6 months with full-scale operations to secure all 4 countries).
I would hold a daily press conference on the steps of the US Capitol Building (right there where Harry Reid has his) naming every leader in our government who prefers terrorists remain free to operate and murder. I would daily recount every one of the thousands of terrorist incidents over the last 40 years, especially those that went unpunished, everywhere in the world.
The last 4 1/2 years of the draft period would be spent rebuilding the 4 countries relieved of criminal elements with 4 new functioning democracies similar to Afghanistan, Turkey, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Egypt. (They don't need to be American-style to work, they just have to be free of demonic murderers raoming the streets with guns.)
I would then issue a medal called the "Middle East Freeom Medal" to everyone who participated those 5 years and establish permenant bases in all 4 countries.
I would then begin building nuclear energy plants in all 4 countires to show them what "peaceful" use of the energy looked like.
If I were wanted for war crimes, I would then turn myself in. The sacrifice would pay off in dividends in the form of a peaceful and strong Middle East for decades.
