Whenever I play Dance Dance Revolution (even the newer easier SUPERNOVA), I always am playing on either light mode or standard mode. I know that the arrows on heavy probably aren't as hard as they seem, but is there some kind of trick to it or do you just have to have really fast feet?

Keep your feet close to the mat. When people start playing DDR they are usually jumping all around, but when you get into the heavier/harder levels you need to keep your feet as close to the mat as you can. You barley jump around, it's more of a "shuffling" side to side and up and down of your feet. Good luck!

I've been playing DDR since 3rd mix came out, and regularly since 5th Mix first made its way to the east coast. With DDR in general, it's all about listening to the music and matching the timing with it. For most songs on Light, you won't see an eight step until you get into the 5 foot range. With Standard, you will see sixteenth steps in as you get higher (in addition to quarter step and eigth steps). In heavy, you'll get all the step types. This is very important that you understand that. The next thing is don't lose the beat. Every single step is meant to go along with a beat. Most music in DDR is based around four beats, so it's easy to keep up with.
I'm sure you've noticed that everything is in line with the beat. Now, the key to heavy is keeping with the beat. Everything is on the beat. Just keep listening to the tricky sections and working on 'em to follow the beat with your feet. That's really the basis for doing well on Heavy. Good luck with it.
