Barring Great Blue Herons,Kingfishers, Racoons and the like goldfish can live a very long time as the other answers say. Even with a large pond some culling and thinning may be necessary a some point, because they will start to spawn. Although it restricts viewing somewhat pond plants are a good idea, providing food and cover from predators, and help removing nitrates from the water. A plant like foxtail or Anacharus can simply be harvested once or twice a year to remove all the nitrates that it absorbed while growing. Have fun with your fish.Good luck.-----PeeTee

Pond fish live longer than tank fish. Expect anywhere from 4 - 20 years depending on the severity of the weather, and hunters like cats and birds. Put pond weed in there to give them shelter, but don't let it overtake your pond, or the fish will sufficate from lack of sunlight and oxygen won't reach the water.

depends how much effort you put in to make sure the pond stays in good shape. And also keep local predators in mind. Pond fish can live a few decades though.

Goldfish can have lifespans up to 20+ years if they are fed a varied diet and housed in exceptional water conditions. Make sure they are not overcrowded. They need sufficient swimming room and do best if they are kept with their own types.

Goldfish have had recorded life spans of 75 years and more. Typically their lives are cut short by disease. So it's party luck and partly how well you take care of them.
