Yeah, I noticed that too. And that they "saw it coming" when you broke up.

Because when you are with that person, they just want to support you as long as you are happy. When that person is out of your life, they are free game for the insults/honesty. Many times, people don't appreciate the honesty they get from their family/friends when they tell you that someone is not for you. Sometimes it's not worth the fight. But if your mate is truly bad for you, many times a family member will try to alert you.

A few reasons...
1. They never liked him/her and was just being nice about it
2. They are taking your side and in an attempt to cheer you up will tell you that they suck so you feel better about the situation.
3. Because they hate everything you do...they're family!

They don't want to upset you while you are still with them. Honestly, if they told you they hated you partner while you were still with them don't you think you would get mad?

Because had they told us the truth while we were with them..we would have been with them longer just to spite them..you know, the whole "you cant tell me what to do " mentality...who wants to admit their mom's are right anyways?

because they know you won't listen to them if they tell you before then. a lot of time love is blind so some can't see what others see in the person.
