my bike is paint code brown, mostly original. Repaint and gold leaf, lost the original seat and extensively chromed by brown. not looking to sell, just curious as to it's worth (it's priceless to me)

thank you for the quick response star. but, paint code brown means it is not black. i've always been told it was a rare bike, how rare ?

original primary and secondary belt (60Kmiles). sorry to say i repainted and cromed it (when i was young and stupid). How many non black one's were made in 82? I guess that is the question i should have asked.

That bike would be worth alot to the right guy. To most every regular at Yahoo Answers, it'll come as a surprise I know what this bike IS even, I used to really be into HD, but not anymore. Anyways, the Sturgis was, I believe, the first HD with a belt drive. I THINK it's just the secondary, not the primary, but can't remember anymore, might be both. BUT what has me curious, because of the color and the extra brass or "leaf" trim, is it might actually be a dealer award bike. Look on the cover on the lower triple tree and see if it says "Dealer Award" on it. In that case it would be worth more than a regular Sturgis. They only made one dealer award bike for each zone, I think maybe about 30 zones, but again not sure on the minute details.
Then again, like anything else collectible, condition is very important, but anything should be able to be fixed up. If it's dealer award, the "leaf" I believe is all brass plated, and I would describe the correct color as a "rootbeer brown"
