Let me start:

The uncomfortability of taking the showers and the closing off of trust between players which would effect chemistry and additudes.

That first answer you received in itself was pretty gay.

Gay players in the league would never work!

First of all, you are talking about some of the fittest players in the world. Are you going to tell me that a gay player isn't going to check out the MAN in the shower next to them!

Give me a break!

Not to mention the lack of trust between players. It's not that they would be worried about being cornered in the locker room by a gay. It is about not feeling comfortable in any given situation in the locker room, dressing, undressing, showering.

That lack of trust and feeling uncomfortable would transfer on to the court. There are those who are ok with it, but the average straight male would never be ok with it.

There is no room for homosexual secrets in the NBA, NFL or any other team sport. If your gay then be up front about it, then you have to deal with the repercussions.

What are you going to do -

Build a separate shower for them?

Trade players who choose not to play with them?

Special treatment, I think not. You can defend homosexuality all you want - but there are some instances and situations where defending really isn't going to make a difference.

I think homosexuality is dysfunctional, and even I think your arguments are BS.

What are the players doing to each other that one being gay "closes off trust?" I'd be more offended sharing a locker room with a Shawn Kemp who father several children by several women around the country, than John Amaechi. Why would they assume they would be attractive to a gay teammate? That is a sign of arrogance beyond belief. I am not attracted to every woman that I see, and for some, I have NO desire to see them naked!

There is no reason for not allowing gays in sports especially if they're talented. And what is with the whole uncomfortable taking shower around them comments. What do you think they'll do, rape other players?

Since when did people not allow gays in sports. I didn't know that was a rule.

Uncomfortable in showers and lockerrooms. Trust. Some people just don't like gay people. Not sure, but they shouldn't keep gays from playing in sports. Its just wrong.

They are there to play the sport not look at there teammates in the shower.Just because they are gay it doesn't make them any different. And what does him being gay have to do with them trusting him on the court?I think if you have skills than you should be playing, gay or straight.
