The town is called Seaside. It's in Santa Rosa Beach, Fla. They have pictures of Jim Carrey in the deli that they filmed in. It really lookes the same as it does in the movie.

It's one of those gated communities that are springing up all over the place. I believe it was called Seaside, and it's in Florida.
They have their own stores, diners, etc.

its called seaside, florida
its one of the most wonderful places to go to its got tons of shops, a book store, two ice cream shops, and lots more.
recently they've added more "high rise" buildings!

"Seahaven," but it actually was just a movie set, so Hollywood or Vancouver would be the approriate answer.
