I've noticed a lot of questions with problems with "Christians", that's like saying all Irish people think the same way or all Italian people, where does this come from?:

Wow, this is a tough one. Could it be because you all follow the same basic tenets and believe CHRIST was divine or the son of God as decided by the bishops at the council of Nicaea? CHRIST=CHRISTIANS

Besides, recognizing too many factions of one belief is silly. Lots of Christian sects were formed only to benefit those invloved in its formation and have nothing to do with a difference in beliefs or interpretation of doctrine.

I agree with you but many Christians, mostly Protestants, try to group all Christian religions as one while trying to deny a few Christian religions the title they deserve.

In most cases, these Christians will deny that Catholics, Mormons, Jehovah's Witnesses, and others are Christian. They Believe in Jesus Christ, they just have a somewhat different view of the theology.

Anyway, I think this is why many non-Christians lump us all together is that and perhaps also some ignorance to the differences between different Christian churches.

Many Protestant Christians will even go so far as to say that it does not matter which church you choose as long as it is within the accepted grouping of Protestant or "Born Again" Christians.

I tend to disagree with that assessment based on things the Bible records Jesus as saying.

Having said that, there are many commonalities among ALL Christian religions, even the ones not recognized as Christian by these fundamentalists.

Honestly, I posted a question kind of like that. I grouped them as a whole, but my intention was not to be negative. My question was "How do you feel about Christians?", and I wanted to know if most people thought they forced their religion on others or if they were pretty tolerant of other religions. I didn't give my opinion one way or the other, and I guess some people assumed I was trying to say something bad about them. Perhaps when you see questions like that, the questioner really means to say "Christians in general." That was certainly my intention.

People group Christians together, rightfully so, because a Christian is just someone who is a follower/believer in Jesus Christ. There is no other indication of beliefs in the word "Christian". So what is so wrong with all being called "Christians"?

I ask that same question. There are so many different denominations of christians. Some believe in the trinity some don't. Some believe that in order to talk to God or be forgiven of their sins they confer with a priest (who is a sinner just like them).I think people group all christians together based on the christians who they've met. Also, the image of christians is supposed to be that they are so perfect and without flaws. That is so not true. They have just as many flaws and temptations as the person who isn't christian. All christians are not the same.A lot of them don't practice what they preach ,but alot of them try so hard to.A true christian strives to be like Jesus..not try to have a holier than thou attitude.

They do not know any better. If they went to Church, they would not do it.

I feel the same way. I do not want to be catagorized with the Christians who do crazy rituals and weird out things with snakes....

I believe in God and have accepted Jesus as my Savior. Don't mix me in with the other crowd please! Everyone interprets the Bible slightly differently, so don't assume we are all in the same boat.

That's true, you have a good point, but I mean it's also the other way around...we see muslims, but there's Shiites, Sunnis, etc....I guess ppl in general just don't know enough about other people religion....I guess if we did, the world would be better....
