V day is a money making racket. now I dont mind getting something for my gf, heck we have been together 15 years now )long story as to why we're not married) but heres the thing-I got her 2 flowers and a little stuffed dog and it cost me more than what I make in 2 hours. Unbelievable. Fortunately she is not materialistic, I mean she'd rather have a plant than live flowers anyway but you see what I mean? and its not that I am cheap or anything. I hope that those of you that got a dozen roses (or more) appreciate the dollar amount that was spent. and I tell her I love her every single day. It's just that right now I dont have a great job and I have fallen on some hard times. THe good thing is we no longer live together because if I go down in flames I wont drag her down with me. Anyway she liked what I got her and yes I have given her better in the past but right now I am limited in my budget. so go easy with the thumbs downs I am sure to get

I love celebrations and festivals including Christmas and Velentine's day.

The God loves celebrations. At times God takes avatars to enjoy celebrations of life. According to Indian traditions life (including the deth) is a series of celebrations.

Yes. My husband and I both work full-time and have 3 children (His 2 kids and our 2 1/2 year-old) so we don't always have time to show each other hpw we feel. My husband is always wanting to buy me jewlery, but I told him not to because I hardly ever wear it and it's too expensive. I told him I'd be happy with some flowers or a plant and a nice card.

No, it's just another hyped up holiday for retailers to make money.
If your loved ones don't already know through out the year that you love them this one day sure isn't going to help out.
My ex was a huge *** hole, but always sent roses and all the other crap on Valentines Day, sure didn't make up for the rest of the year.

Of course, I agree within reason.. don't have to go too crazy. Could go out or celebrate at home.

Lol, it's a money-making holiday, but it's fun to celebrate the love with those around you. And who doesn't love receiving/giving chocolates and flowers?

why not?? i mean valentines day is to tell everyone u love them as in ur parents, grandmothers,or grandfathers. It doesn't always have too celebrated in one way.

ANY celebration that involves chocolate, flowers, heart decorations and an excuse to tell people you love them is cool in my book.
