Use pressure, not a feather-light touch. Work up and down on the muscles that are on either side of the spine, but NOT on the spine itself. On long strokes (gliding up a muscle with pressure), always massage in a motion toward the heart.

Being at the person's head while they are face-down is much better than sitting on their back. Try having their head at the edge of a bed to allow you to stand or kneel in front of the bed while giving the massage.

Use massage oil, and not any type of cream, lotion or oil that's going to dry up right away. Keep a sheet draped on the person's legs (not out of modesty, but a person's body temp lowers when they're getting a massage and they feel cold even though the temp in the room hasn't changed).

In addition to your thumbs, use your knuckles, fists and elbows as tools to give massages - you'll get less tired that way.

Try to keep the lights low, the music soft and something the person being massaged likes, and also try to always keep in touch with the person...for example, if you have to put more oil on your hands, try to keep your forearm lightly touching them. This is so they know where you are and don't have to gain consciousness in order to look up and try to figure out where you went or what you're doing.

Oh man! I miss my massuse as we speak!! She and her husband work as a team. He is a chiropractor and she massages! It's ONLY $60 total, but she lives an hour and a half away from me and with the gas - that $60 plus adds up. Anyway I said all that to say this - pay attention where there most stressful at aka hurt. Massage it with your base of your palms for more aggression and use your fingers for less around the neck and face - very tender - same with feet. Do NOT touch the spine or tailbone. VERY sensitive. GOOD LUCK!

Always make sure to use lots of pressure on the muscles. Never rub the
bones or spine, it could damage your bones. Use moisterizing lotion or oil,
then to have the person who your massaging feel relaxed, put on some classical
music.

depends on who you are massaging, generally guys like the massage a bit harder and girls a bit softer, if for your man you can use your elbows, heel of your hends etc to 'toughen' it up a bit.

I usually start by stretching on the back a little soothing patterns up and down..

ya have to be naked and all oiled up yourself and straddle the guy while he is on his belly and just rub...it won't last long though before it turns into something else entirely.
