I'm a teenager, but I think that I'm a lot different from all of my friends and all other teenagers I know. I'm not into all the rap and hip hop and the music that my friends listen to. I love the old movies, the old music and almost everything about the 50s and 60s. I really don't want anything to do with the stuff that's around today, I just think so much of it is so stupid. I have yet to find someone that's the same way. I'm not asking to "meet" anyone, I'm just wondering is anyone else like this?

I was like that as a teenager (I was a teen back in the '90s). Well, I mean I DID like the current music and all that, but I LOVED older stuff...like old jazz music or oldies or classic rock and old movies, etc. I was different than most teens in that sense, but I also did like the current music and movies and styles as well. I just happened to find a balance between it all and I did my own thing. And interestingly, I was considered "cool" in high school. =P People actually thought it was so unique that I liked whatever I wanted to and didn't care what others thought. *shrug*

So you're not alone...there ARE teens out there like you (and like I was). It's good to get out there and see what else there is...experience other cultures and eras and music, etc. You'll be a more well-rounded person.

ya i can relate really well. cuz my dad likes stuff from the 60s and 70s im like into that and ive never heard of most of the hip hop artists cuz it just doesnt sound good to me. sometimes i feel like ditching my friends, cuz they all hav their plasticness, and it buggs the heck outta me. and unlike my friends im in love with wrestling and wanna b on the high school wrestling team. there are others like you, like me for example.

well, you could "meet" me by message, as i like all the stuff, old and new, and tell you about this answer more in-depth.

it's obviously your personal preferance. there are many people out there like you of your age, but it depnds on where you live. if you live in Boston, then you find both new-lovers, and new-haters. If you live in New York City, then you will find mostly new-lovers. If you live in Newton (or most suburban cities,) you will find mostly old-lovers (they don't quite hate new, but they don't prefer it.)

Yes.
A majority of kids love oldies.
I just happen to love oldies and modern things.
