That is good! People with panic disorder all the time scared of taking medications..... Tablets or other dosage forms.
Look, first of all, there are so many herbal medications that are used and been used successively.... St. John's wort "Hypericum perforatum" This herb is used for depression and so used for anxiety and panic disorder.
What I can say here, that, Xanax is not that hard stuff and addictable, You know it has two little doses 0.5 and 0.25mg, you can even take a half of the 0.25 mg tablet whenever you think the whole tablet is sedating or something like that.
There is another herb used for anxiety called Valeriana, It's sedating and very safe, You can find Valeriana as called "Cat herba" the same thing...... Good luck.....

I will now go for the next stage DUAL CARRIAGE way, probably at the weekend, with my husband accompanying me first then the solo drive, if successful the final stage of driving on motorway

First off, do not ge off your xanax too quick. The side effects can be enormous. Have your Doc help you get off of them very slowly, you dont want to risk having a seizure or things like that. Panic attakcs seem to be quite a normal thing these days, so many things to do and not enough time.
Have you tried giving yourself permission to relax? I know that sounds weird but think about it. Keep a diary of what your were doing just before your attacks occured. For relaxing there is exercise which helps immensely,it helps get the blood flowing and the oxygen to your brain and the good endorphins flowing these are some things that calm your mind. Also, talking to someone , writing it all out on paper, meditation, tai wan classes or something like that. The answer is out there you have to look for it as if your life depended on it. With Xanax you will have to start increasing your dose all the time to get the same effect. there is no getting around that. And it will make getting off the drug even harder. One doc told me he has seen more people die from coming off of Xanax than heroin. Kind of scary. So take it slow. get help, and just remember you can get this under control even it it seems like it wont ever be now. Just have a litttle faith and keep searching for things that work for you. good luck

I used to have to take Zoloft then I slowly got off of it and have been able to control it with just calm thinking about everything. I have to control my thoughts about things that I have huge fears of and if I take the time to slowly work things out in my head and tell myself that everything is going to be fine. I'm good to go. I have only had one panic attack in the last two years that I have been off the meds.

Believe it or not, FLUORIDE was first used to calm inmates of the Gulag in Russia. The Russian police found that by making the inmates drink flouridated water, they became calm and docile.
Everybody seems to think flouride is fine in drinking water--so go for it. Caution, though--it's also a poison. The video indicated below tells about it, among other things.
