What's the importance of rights in the early years setting or field? What rights does a child have with the setting?

It depends what you mean by rights, there are several laws which affect children and their families, some of these give children particular rights, you should look at the Children's Act 1989.
There is also the European Convention on the Rights of the Child, if you look on www.unicef.org you will find a full list of children's rights, they include things like the right not to be discriminated against. The right to survival and development is important in a primary school setting because as a CCE worker you are nurturing the child's development. Hope this helps.

They have the right to the respect of teachers, administrators and fellow students, and the right to the best education possible. In return they have the obligation respect teachers, administrator and fellow students and to apply themselves toward being educated. A great many educators and students seem to forget that education is a two way street.
