A lot of racists are just inadequates who seek to use a scapegoat to absolve themselves of any blame for their own shortcomings and misfortunes. Some, like the BNP's Nick Griffin aren't stupid, and they are the dangerous ones.

I've always found that racism is directly linked to intelligence. The most staunch racists I've met are also the most mentally challenged, without actually having any recognised medical defects in their brains. They are just people who are stupid. Anyone surprised at this is either stupid or racist. But it's not often that either of these traits travels unaccompanied. People of reasonable intelligence realise that racism is completely pointless.

But spare a thought for those thick people who have been raised right, and are not racist. It's not fair to lump them with the rest of the idiots..

Not all racists are stupid. Some are very clever people who know how to manipulate their more cerebrally challenged brethren. Reserve your anger for the Nick Griffin's of this world. It's they who are the true face of fascist and racist evil. The others are mere deluded pawns in a very nasty game. Because they are uncultured, xenophobic, uneducated and simpleminded. They don't want to learn usually because they think their race is the highest of the high, they think eating take aways is their way of having sampled foreign foods and they are plain racist because their elders bring them up to be that way and they are too simpleminded to venture out and find out about the world for themselves. Oh and those who like watching films like Full Metal Jacket, oriental girls aren't around to please you men. We are just another person on this planet just like everyone one else.
The only racial abuse I've had apart from when I was very young at primary school, has amazingly enough been from lovely, respectable pensioners. I was so shocked at being called a 'foreign b@stard' one day when I was out shopping with my baby that I laughed out loud as I didn't know what else to do!

Agreed you see a lot of the neanderthal racist bigots out there who bring a bad name to people who believe in British Nationalism. But i'm afraid you are generalising. I am what you could call a British Nationalist and what most people would call a racist simply because i believe my own people should come first and that immigrants and assylum seekers should be made to adopt our culture in public. I'm not stupid however.

I have to say that racists are thick, but not without a reason. You see, they are only racist because they have done 1 of 2 things. 1.) they have done research showing how a different race has done them intense wrong making them really angry. Or...2.) they just hate the other race because they're different. Either way, they're only human and I hope the best for them.

Well the actions of the few shall not dictate to the many...however as with 911 we all have to pay for the actions of the few...I guess the government doesnt realize this...individuals have a right to their opinions and however outspoken they are you are only a racist if you speak OPENLY about your predispositions....sadly as many do...I'm apprehensive and skeptical of many minority classes however all are judged by thier actions and appearance....

I sense in the answers that the "racist" is white. Well, here we have trainloads of non-white racists! Racism is an old-school definition. Now we have tribal warfare, sectarian violence and so on. No I don`t think all racists are stupid,just look at Hitler,he was misguided,evil, but he wasn`t stupid.This is the problem,how do we recognise these individuals and deal with them before they get into positions of power
