It isn't. If the U.N. gets more power, then the elite of the world get more power...no more beautiful, unique little countries with their languages, customs, traditions...everyone will be the same—one language, one giant market to make it easy for the wealthy.

It isn't. It is a place where all the "little" countries tries can act like the big boys. It is a place of major egos and in my estimation does very little for world peace. If it did then we wouldn't be having the conflicts we are having now.

They didn't seem to have much influence with Iran. They didn't seem to have much influence with North Korea. They didn't seem to have much influence with Dufar. So where is the collaborative effort for security, development and human rights?

The United nations is actually a collective of dictatorships, countries with slavery, records of human abuse and lack of human rights. Their job seems to be to whine and complain as they eat huge meals of jumbo shrimp and lobster about how the US is harming the world by making them stop keeping slaves and allowing their women to go to college. Oh, and they don't like that we don't respect their right to perform female genital mutilation, either.

The best course of action is to get rid of the UN once and for all.

The UN is not anything but inneffective and never follow through with any of their serious resolutions. If they did the US would not be so deeply involved in Iraq.

It is a miserable failure at all those things. Tell your teacher to get her head out of her bum and give you a real assignment.
