Make a list, two actually, side by side. One side write down all the negative things you THINK or notice about yourself that is TRUE, (not just based on anothers theory or judgment about you) the other side, write down all the positive things you THINK or notice about yourself. It could be anything that is positive, i.e., something not negative. For example, I "like my feet", (positive), "I know someone who has prettier feet than me" (negative). After you have done this, cross out the negative things that are really based on how society says you should look and feel. Next, reflect on the positive list you have, and buy yourself a gift for being a good and caring person. You should be adding to your positive list at least once a day. As you do this, you will see the negative side of your list get smaller and seem less over bearing. Finally pray and surround yourself with those who love and accept you for who you are.

Give some serious answers on Yahoo Q&A and try to win the Best answers. Trust me this works. I started using this as an activity after my self-esteem sunk, and I've been awarded 3 best answers so far. Oooh, the feeling was like winning a Grammy!
I felt good about myself, and it cheered me up to know I helped make a difference!

eat fruits and veggies.. sometimes your body needs the sugar of these.
Also, drink water your cells needs rejuvination.
Then take a shower and dress up and make yourself pretty.
Hang out with one of your good friends and dont discuss your self-esteem because it will only bring your friend down and make you dwell on it more... just simply hang out like there is no problem.

Not sure how long a time period you are thinking about but if I wake up and don't feel effectual or competent one day, I honestly take a day off and treat myself well. I have to make sure I take time for me to nurture myself. All the others can handle things and they know that.
If you are having trouble feeling bad about yourself for long periods of time you need to find the things you do well and do them. There are several things you can do well if you just let yourself think about it. Be kind and not harsh with yourself and realize you do the best you can every day. We are not perfect nor should we think we can ever be. But you do your best. Works for me.

well what you have to do is pull down your pants and light them on fire when they are fully burning you quickly put the pants back on and run on to a highway and sing the US anthem if you get hit by a car then you will never get your self esteem back if you stay alive quickly run to the closest mountain and if you see a goat then have sexual intercourse with it, when you are done climb back down the mountain and get a life

Remember you are who you are and you are as good as any body else is and don't let anyone tell you any different. You have to believe in yourself because if you don't no one else will. Others like to put us down to make themselves look good and to belittle us but they can only do that if we let them. Get away from people who are doing that too you because all they do is bring you down.
Keep your chin up and smile, and remember you are a good person.
