Would this be a good electric guitar to learn metal with, like a starter guitar?

It is a low end guitar....you could get something a little better for around the same price at a music store...Epiphones, Strats etc..

I wouldn't spend less than 400 on a guitar. May as well learn to play on a quality built guitar thats going to last.

not really. i went to a pawn shop and got mine, it's a bass though. i got a 180 watt fender amp and a peavey bass guitar, both in excellent condition for $361.00. It seems high, but you will get what you pay for. I would suggest saving up for a little while so you can get what you really want, rather than just settling for something to get you by because you know you will end up wanting a better one.

Well, lets see...

it has 23 frets, six strings, and 2 pickups.

I'd say that if you want to start learning, then yeah, it'll do the job. lol

If you plan on playing out, though, ditch it FAST. It won't cut it.

no it isnt. the amp sucks, and the guitar wont play for more than two minutes. i would save up for something better. something that will grow with you.
